Art Fund is the UK’s national fundraising charity for art. We believe that art can make you see, think and feel differently, and through our work we help make art more accessible to as many visitors as possible, wherever they are. We give grants to help museums and galleries acquire works of art for their collections, share them with wide audiences, and support the training and professional development of curators. We are supported by our growing membership of 130,000 through the National Art Pass, as well as the generosity of many trusts, foundations and individuals.

This is fantastic opportunity to lead the marketing of one of Art Fund's most important products, the National Art Pass. This role will appeal to an experienced marketer, with a background in consumer focused products and an understanding of how to deliver an excellent brand experience, as you'll be responsible for acquisition, retention and operations that relate to the running of our main membership scheme.

Responsibilities

Generate consumer engagement with Art Fund and UK museums through National Art Pass membership, donations (low-level), and other forms of support. Promote and grow a diverse and inclusive supporter base to the benefit UK museums and galleries. Maximise income and the return on investment, create a first-class customer and brand experience, optimise and deploy technology across the customer lifecycle.Contribute to Art Fund’s overall strategy and business planning as a consumer marketing and membership expert.

Key Accountabilities


Work with Marketing Managers (Supporter Experience & Recruitment) to oversee a strategic programme of campaigns and activity based on customer insight to generate income, develop the membership experience and expand brand kudos amongst our primary audience of UK culture seekers. Grow income, satisfaction and brand advocacy amongst new and existing supporters and generate plans andapproaches to expand the National Art Pass (volume and financial measures) in line with organisational planning.Deliver new approaches to support organisational diversity and inclusion objectives for consumeraudiences, promote change in practices and ways of working, in particular supplier, agency and freelancer selection that expands the range and diversity of providers. Set and monitor inclusion targetsand take action to ensure such targets are met.Oversee the Senior Operations Manager in the delivery of end-to-end operational delivery and excellent customer care. Manage and mitigate risk, ensure continuity of delivery, and ensure service standards andbrand values are met. Work together to ensure all monies are reconciled with finance and gift aid is maximised. Work collaboratively to develop the service and innovate new product developments.

Build a programme of always on, online and offline low-level fundraising from members and the wider public. Work with the Development team to create themes and products, marketing plans andcampaigns that generate income to support Art Fund’s work and hand-off high-level prospects (£500+)for further cultivation.Work with the Head of Digital Service to oversee and develop a digital roadmap for Art Fund consumer experience – primarily culture seekers and art advocates. Champion a continuous improvement approach, testing and measuring impact.Work with the Head of Content and the Editor of AQ to ensure a wide variety of content serves the supporter and customer lifecycle, deepening engagement and increasing member satisfaction.Work closely with internal stakeholders; the Events Manager and our museum network (via MuseumMarketing & Programmes) to develop the member experience and increase retention through a programme of participation events. Continue to innovate, develop, and implement a programme of activity to increase engagement with Art Fund or deepen their engagement with museums.Manage and monitor the annual expenditure budget and contracts; provide reporting, forecasting and budget proposals as part of financial planning and re tendering contracts and negotiating prices.

With sound commercial acumen and experience of large scale consumer marketing campaigns, you'll help the Art Fund to develop and deliver an inclusive supporter base to benefit UK museums and galleries and generate year on year income growth. You'll not only be skilled at understanding media planning, developing strong customer propositions and services, but you'll also have a keen eye for return on investment and how to use technology across the customer life-cycle to create data driven insight and activations.

Proven resource and team management experience is vital, with some knowledge of the cultural sector or visitor marketing is desirable.
