A vacancy exists within the Membership Services Team to provide a professional, accurate and member orientated service, acting a first point of contact for many member enquiries, and maintaining and updating the membership database.
Location: HQ (Bermondsey) Hybrid Working
Salary: Grade A - £28,778 per annum plus
London weighting - £5,948 (HQ / Hybrid) or Plus £312 (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Accurate entry, editing and use of data in the SCoR membership database
- Provision of information and reports, derived from the database, to assist the activities of staff and directors of SCoR
- Dealing directly with members, maintaining high levels of customer service to ensure:
- that data held is accurate, updated and sufficient to ensure optimum benefit to the member and to facilitate delivery of benefits by SCoR.
- that the system of membership subscriptions is efficiently and fairly applied and updated.
- that direct debit and credit card transactions are accurately carried out in the collection of fees and reporting
- Prompt confirmation of membership from the daily online joiner reports
- Advising prospective and current members on subscription matters
- Assisting all members of staff with member queries and the effective use of the database
- Provide database information, as requested, to assist in SoR activities
- Monitor and coordinate promotional material levels (e.g. the membership booklet, pens) for the department, despatching as required
- Attend conferences and events, as required, to assist with member related matters
- Monitoring and administering the SoR LinkedIn group, in support of the communications team and assisting the Communications team when co-ordinating member communications.
- Dealing with the prompt dispatch of membership and promotional materials from the London HQ office.
Job Requirements
- experience in the use relational databases, spreadsheets and reporting
- experience handling and reporting on membership data and familiarity with professional bodies or trade union work
- ability to use a database system to provide the information and intelligence to inform decision-making and strategy
- high level of accuracy in data entry and maintenance of records and the ability to interpret data, spot trends and relate incidental findings to the business needs of an organisation
- Excellent telephone and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including a calm, assertive, persuasive and professional approach and the ability to build rapport.
- Well-developed organisation skills and be thorough and methodical in your work.
- Have the ability to objectively prioritise tasks and to solve problems quickly under pressure.
